John has been a practicing solicitor for more than 20 years. He specialises in three specific areas of Regulatory Law namely, Environmental, Health & Safety and Road Transport. He acts for a wide spectrum of commercial clients ranging from farmers, equine carriers and plant hire operators to mobile crane operators and operators of specialist mobile plant, abnormal loads, operators of waste transfer stations and manufacturers.

John has worked for a great many farmers who have diversified away from traditional agricultural enterprise to undertake road construction projects, road maintenance, landscaping and land spreading projects. Many of his clients have, as they have diversified encountered issues relating to excise duty, waste and road haulage legislation and John has successfully trouble-shooted a whole panoply of problems encountered by them. He has also defended a significant number of water pollution cases. He spends the vast majority of his time defending clients in relation to proceedings brought by the Environment Agency, DEFRA, VOSA and the Health & Safety Executive.

John is an experienced public speaker and has spoken at events hosted by CLA, CIWM and IRTE as well as a number of other organisations.
