David is a director and head of the litigation department. He graduated in law at University College London in 1980 and qualified as a solicitor in 1983. He was a partner in a London firm of solicitors before moving to North Wales in 1998 to join Swayne Johnson.
He specialises in civil litigation and particularly personal injury, clinical and other professional negligence, land law disputes, commercial and residential landlord and tenant litigation, contested probate and inheritance disputes. He is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL). David has acted for central and local government bodies and several large housing organisations in property disputes. He has represented clients in cases dealt with in the Court of Appeal, including cases in relation to an inheritance dispute, the correct assessment of damages for trespass (MOD v. Thompson [1993] 2 EGL 107) and the mutual enforceability of positive covenants relating to service charges (Thamesmead Town re Allotey [1998] EWCA Civ 15). David is also involved in charitable work and recently helped set up a new autism charity called C-Saw (North Wales) Limited, of which he is a trustee and the company secretary. His hobbies include DIY, cycling and mountain walking.
