His principal area of expertise is financial provision both on Divorce and other relationship breakdown. He also undertakes Civil Litigation including professional negligence claims and has considerable experience of property disputes including Landlord and Tenant proceedings, both commercial and residential. He has acted in High Court cases, including judicial review, and his appearances as an advocate have taken him to County Courts across England and Wales.

Rhys is a fluent Welsh speaker. He has been a part-time lecturer and in 2002 was appointed a Deputy District Judge.

On both a personal and professional level he has undertaken charitable work for several years and his numerous other interests include music, reading and industrial archaeology.
