James has thirteen years’ experience of employment
law at all levels, both contentious and non-contentious.
Dr Chambers has handled all aspects of corporate
and institutional employment work including reorganisations,
redundancy programmes, transfers and mergers, disciplinary
and grievance proceedings, dismissals and severance
deals. Drafting of employment contracts, handbooks
and all manner of service documents, severance agreements,
bonus and incentive plans.
Also being a regular advocate in the Employment
Tribunals throughout the UK, Dr Chambers has had
conduct of over six hundred Employment Tribunal
cases, acting for both employers and employees.
Dr Chambers has acted for individual clients which
have included persons with insurance funding, high
net worth individuals, company directors, partners.
He has also acted for many solicitors and accountants
as well as also undertaken a great deal of employment
work for individuals funded by insurance companies.
Dr Chambers' Corporate and institutional clients
have included large manufacturing, foodstuffs and
petroleum concerns, many of which are households
names, high street retailers, haulage and transport
companies, NHS Trusts, Universities, Schools, Local
Authorities and many small to medium size businesses
in the retail, service and manufacturing sectors,
and the largest friendly society in the world.
Dr Chambers has approximately three years experience
at junior level of Company Commercial and Commercial
Litigation work. He assisted in some high value
litigation in the high Court and provided corporate
support for mergers, acquisitions and buy-outs.
