Swayne Johnson Solicitors contribute to local Children's Charity
Back in October 2010 we received a letter from the Denbighshire County Council signed by Jamie Groves, Head of Leisure Services; Colin Hughes, Councillor for Upper Denbigh and Bill Ellis-Jones, Wales Participatory Budget Unit. The letter outlined that Denbighshire County Council had £10,000 available from their Play equipment capital budget and by involving local companies and groups would like to set a target budget of £25,000 to provide a much improved amenity on Cae Howell in Upper Denbigh.
The Directors of Swayne Johnson agreed without hesitation to support this venture and pledged £500 sponsorship towards the project.
The Community of Upper Denbigh was to decide on what play items were to be purchased as soon as sufficient funding had become available. Several meetings were held and our Practice Manager was able to attend most in support of the working group. Voting took place on the 30th June at Ysgol Heulfre and at the Town Hall. Three of the five schemes put forward were able to go ahead immediately, namely a Climbing Wall, Large Pendulum Swing and Revolva Roundabout (both latter items catering for non-disabled and disabled children) at a total cost of £26,423.00.
At the Town Hall on the voting evening we were pleased to present our cheque for £500.
